V-Day Kamloops 2015
In the spring of 2015, KWRGS hosted 3 Eve Ensler plays celebrating Women’s Month!
The Vagina Monologues: This award-winning play is based on V-Day founder/playwright Eve Ensler’s interviews with more than 200 women. With humour and grace, the piece celebrates women’s sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives.
Emotional Creature: This play is a celebration of a new generation of women and brings their bold voice centre stage. It is a glorious shout to the wind that validates the authentic voice inside every girl. As an inspiring call to action, to empower the Emotional Creature within every human being, this play is all about how we continue to talk about women’s issues.
A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and A Prayer: A groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights, edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle. These diverse voices rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels. This exciting reading includes by and for men and has been organized by the Kamloops V-Men Committee.
